  • Is Cardiac Electrophysiology safe?
    Yes, cardiac electrophysiology is safe. However, like any other procedure there are potential risks. The risks will be explained when you meet with Dr. Bhajal. The procedure has been peformed safely on children and adults.
    Does the cardiac electrophysiology procedure hurt?
    You might feel some discomfort procedure when lying on our table, from the injection of the local anesthetic or numbing medicine, or intermittently when doctors induce an abnormal heart rhythm. To help reduce discomfort, you may be given short-acting sedatives; however, every patient is different. This is why Dr. Bhajal will determine the best course of action for your individual scenario.
    How long will I be in the hospital?
    The majority of patients are able to go back home the same day or after the procedure. Some patients stay the night at the hospital and go home the next morning.
    How many cardiac electrophysiology procedures has your clinic completed?
    We have completed hundreds of procedures and use state of the art technology to optimize success.
    How long will the cardiac electrophysiology procedure take?
    This procedure will normally take anywhere between 3 to 6 hours depending on your individual scenario. Please let your loved ones know how long the procedures will take. This way they are not concerned about you.
    When should I return to work?
    Most patients are able to return to work in 1-2 days. However, if your job requires heavy lifting or lots of physical activity, then it may be longer.
